Project Scope
The scope of this project was to replace the existing Ljungstrom air heater with a new plate type exchanger without interrupting operations. Also included was revising the instrumentation package to better monitor and control furnace operation.

Revisions resulted in:
- Payback of less than one and one-half year based on fuel usage
- 2,000 BPD increase in unit capacity
- Catalyst life extended by 5 months ($250,000.00 savings)
- Eliminated heater hot spots resulting in lower tube wall temperatures
